Được đào đắp đất theo hình chữ L dùng để chiến đấu chống càn. Mỗi công sự có một cán bộ bảo vệ cầm súng trực, sẵn sàng chiến đấu ngăn giặc càn (hỗ trợ cho bãi ngù-tử địa). Theo lời ông Nguyễn Thanh Xuân, nguyên Đại đội phó Đơn vị C279 thì do đây là vùng căn cứ bí mật nên chủ trương của Tỉnh ủy là tuyệt đối không cho nổ súng chỉ đánh chặn bằng mìn, lựu đạn nên nếu chiến đấu thì những người bảo vệ vòng ngoài sẽ chiến đấu trước để bảo vệ bên trong căn cứ. Trong thực tế chiến tranh do chưa có lần nào địch càn vào căn cứ theo hướng này nên các công sự này ít khi được sử dụng.
